What you need to use SKYPE or FACETIME:
1. An iPad or similar tablet; or a computer with a built-in webcam, or a computer with a separate webcam. (I've even had a student use FaceTime on her iPhone for a harp lesson when someone else was using her iPad, though this is not ideal because the picture is smaller.)
2. A fast internet connection (such as DSL, cable or FIOS; dial-up is not fast enough).
3. To use FaceTime (Apple's video-chat feature; only if you have an Apple device), there is nothing else you have to set up. To use Skype, create a free account at  and download Skype to your computer.

Video calls by Skype or FaceTime are FREE.

I've found that with some of my students, the connection on Skype is clearer and more reliable than FaceTime, and for others, FaceTime is clearer and more reliable than Skype!  I don't know why.  But we can experiment and find out which is better to & from your device.

I am in the U.S.A. - California - Los Angeles time zone.

I teach private lessons on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 11 am to 8 pm my time.
